April Wrap Up + May TBR | 2017

I'm really late on posting my wrap up for last month so I'll share the video I uploaded on my channel talking about what I read in April. Although I was crawling out of a reading slump I had a pretty good reading month and finished 6 books.

I have five books on my May TBR. It's not a lot but there are some pretty hefty books. At least two of the books are over 600 pages! I've already finished one of the books on my TBR for the month so I'm off to a good start. Wish me luck!

Let me know what you guys read in April and what you plan to read in May.

January Wrap Up

Can you believe it? I can't! This wrap up is actually going up on time. January was a really productive month when it came to reading. I read more than I usually average in a month. I think I may have burnt myself out because I haven't felt like reading during the last week and a half of the month. With all that said, let's get into the wrap up.

New to My Shelves

Books I Read

Some Girls Bite (4 stars) | Twisted Palace (3.5 stars) | Friday Night Bites (4 stars)

Illuminae (5 stars) | Gemina (5 stars) | The Inflatable Woman (1 star)

The Gigantic Beard That Was Evil (3.5 stars) | Dating an Alien Pop Star (3 stars) | Said the Shotgun to the Head (5 stars)

Music

I've never talked about music on my blog before but I figured why not try something new. Usually I'm listening to an instrumental playlist on spotify because that's what I listen to while I'm reading but this month I rediscovered Banks. I recently found out she released her second album The Altar and I'm obsessed! I have been listening to it almost nonstop (I'm even listening as I type up this post) since I found out about it. There are 2 or 3 songs that I don't really care for but I love everything else!

Coming in February

Hopefully February is another good reading month. I wanted to mention a readathon I would like to participate in during this month. TBR Takedown 5.0 is happening February 6th-12th  and there are 5 challenges that go along with it. I'm really looking forward to this readathon!

October/November Wrap Up

So we are already in December and the year is almost over. I told myself that I would strart being more active on this blog since I wouldn't be able to film for a while but clearly that didn't happen. I will be finishing up my hours for cosmetology school on Wednesday so that should free up some more of my time. Since I have been seriously slacking here is my wrap up for the past 2 months.

2016 Reading Challenge

At this point my main goal is to finish as many books on the Around the Year in 52 Books challenge. As of today (the day I'm posting this) I have 11 books to read to finish this challenge. I highly doubt I will finish this challenge but I know at least a few of the books I would like to read during the rest of the month will work for some of the challenges. As far as the Finishing the Series challenge, I think I will use this as an ongoing challenge for myself.

What's Happening in December

Since we are almost halfway through the month I figured it would be best to just update you guys on the second half of the month. If you don't already know Cramathon, created/hosted by WhittyNovels, will be taking place December 16-23. I will be participating since I think sometimes it's fun having reading challenges to complete during a week. Like I mentioned before, I'll be done with school by the middle of this week so that should mean more time for reading. Also, this month I want to start really investing time into my writing!

What are your plans for the rest of the year?

September Wrap Up

Well it hasn't been that long since I posted my August Wrap Up. There isn't too much I really need to update you guys on. I'm still working on a schedule for myself to make sure I'm posting consistently. The closer we get to the end of the year the more stressed out I will get. I'm almost done with cosmetology school and I'm preparing to take my test to get my license. If it gets a little too hectic I might have to stop blogging for a while but I try to make a post if that happens.

New to My Shelves

I'm feeling a little less lazy this time around so I decided to include the books that I got in September. I thought I didn't do that bad but after filming my book haul I realized I got I got almost the same amount of books as last month. I blame it on Book Outlet!

Books I Read

The Deal (reread 4.5 stars) | The Mistake (4.5 stars)

What Light (2.5 stars) | The Last of the Firedrakes (2.5 stars)

2016 Reading Challenge

I came so close to finishing my overall reading goal of 52 books at the end of August that I finished it within the first couple weeks of September. Since I was able to finish that goal I've been trying to be a little more focused on completing the Around the Year in Books challenge. However I may change my mind and just read whatever for the rest of the year.

To Come in October

I've been having a good reading month so far which I'm excited about. I feel there's so much I want to read but there just isn't enough time. I'm slowly making my way through my unread physical books. I really want to participate in in NanoWriMo this year since last year was a complete fail for me. I'm mentioning this now because if I do participate I want to start planning now and with my already busy schedule it can affect my blogging.

How was September for you? Is there anything you're really looking forward to in October?

August Wrap Up

So I have been seriously slacking on this blog. I can't believe it's basically the end of September and I'm just getting around to posting this review. I was going to post this two weeks ago but I got really sick and pretty much slept the entire time. As I've been saying for a while now, I'm going to try to get back on track with this blog. I had a pretty good reading month in August. There seems like there's a lot I need to get through so let get into what matters.

New to My Shelves

If you haven't seen my wrap up for July, I ended up getting a lot of books in one month. Somehow I managed to get more books in August than I got in June and July combined. I'm lazy so I'm not going to list each book. If you would like to see what books I got, check out the video I have talking about them.

Books I Read

Food Wars Volume 7 (5 stars) | Food Wars Volume (4.5 stars)

Food Wars Volume 9 (4 stars) | A Court of Mist and Fury (5 stars)

Food Wars Volume 10 (4 stars) | Food Wars Volume 11 (4.5 stars)

Wicked Heart (4.5 stars) | Food Wars Volume 12 (4 stars)

Food Wars Volume 13 (4 stars) | Saga Volume 6 (4.5 stars)

2016 Reading Challenge

At the end of August I read a total 49 books so I was really close to finishing my reading goal for this year. I've also been spending time updating the challenges I'm participating in this year. I'm really behind on the Finishing the Series challenge. Right now I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish everything I wanted to read for that. I'm currently working on updating the books I read that fit into the challenges for the Around the Year in 52 Books challenge. I have an updated written record but I need to update the file that you guys can see. Hopefully I will have that done by the time I past this.

September Update

This isn't really much of an update since it's basically the end of September now. I'm basically using this to let you guys know that I do have plans to get back on track with my blog. I have ideas of things I would like to talk about. I've also been taking a different approach to when/how I review books so I can post more often. These changes will start this last week in September and will continue on.

Since this is so late I will not ask about how your August went XD but be looking out for September Wrap Up. I will be making sure I post that in the beginning of the month. See you guys in my next post!

July Wrap Up

I know I just posted a wrap up but I wanted to get this up before the end of August. I'm still getting back into the feel of blogging. I don't think I've posted a review in a couple months. I'm  working on it, I promise! I know you're here for the wrap up so I will stop talking about stuff you probably don't care about.

New to My Shelves

Like I said in the last wrap up, I'm going to film a video of all the books I got during the summer at the end of this month. If you guys would like to see a post of all the books I got during the summer, let me know. I will say, I got 15 books in July. I'm using the excuse that it was my birthday month for why I got so many.

Books I Read

Gemina (5 stars) | The Loose Ends List (4 stars)

Bad Romeo (5 stars) | Broken Juliet (5 stars)

Food Wars Volume 6 (4 stars) | I Hate Fairyland (4 stars)

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone ( 4 stars) | A Court of Thorns and Roses (reread/buddy read with Teisha from Girl Writes Review)

To Come in August

I made an ambitious TBR for June but now that it's a week into the month I'm thinking about changing some of that. I really want to get to some of the books I agreed to review but I forgot about (sorry if that happens to be your books). I also have ARCs that I got at Book Con that are coming out soon that I would like to get to. I'm currently reading A Court of Mist and Fury and since I'm a mood reader I'm not sure how I will feel about reading those things once I'm done.

What did you read in July?

May + June Wrap Up

It's been a while since I posted a monthly wrap up As you may have noticed, I have been slowly trying to get back into blogging. There has been topics I wanted to post but missed out on during my absence. I may revisit some of the topics in the future bur for now I'm just trying to move forward. However, I still want to post reviews for some of the books I read while I was gone. I think this post may be long so I will just get into it.

New to My Shelves

I think I have accumulated quite a few books over these two months because let's be real, I have no self control. I have already posted a video of all the books I got in May. If you want you can check out those books here. I also posted a collective Book Outlet haul which was a few month's worth of purchases so feel free to check that out here. I decided to do a summer book haul at the end of August so I will post about the books I got in June later.

Books I Read in May

Food Wars Volume 2 (5 stars) | Food Wars Volume 3 (4.5 stars) | Food Wars Volume 4 (4 stars)

Food Wars Volume 5 (4.5 stars) | Highly Illogical Behavior ( 4 stars) | Nimona ( 4 stars)

Books I Read in June

Illuminae (5 stars) | Rat Queens Volume 2 (4.5 stars) | Rat Queens Volume 3 (2 stars)

2016 Reading Challenge

By the end of June I read a total of 37 books towards my Goodreads goal of 52 books I'm still ahead for this challenge. I 'm sure that I have complete some of the challenges for the Around the Year in 52 Books and the Finishing the Series but I need to look at them and update them. I think I may have even gotten a book for the Around the World challenge.

Quick July Update

July is over so I don't have anything about what's going to happen during the month. I will be doing a wrap up very soon for July so be looking out for that. I'm back and I'm going to do my best to stay consistent!

April Wrap Up

I was just talking to someone about how it seems like the older I get, the more time seems to fly by. Even though it doesn't seem like it's been that long, I'm quickly approaching my first year of blogging. I can't believe it! April was a pretty good month. My nephew was born and I went back to my home state and was able to see most of my college friends. April was also a good reading month for me. I think I read more during this month than I've ever read in a month. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I participated (somewhat) in 2 readathons this month. Now that I've finished with my intro and let's get into the wrap up and what's coming in May.

New to My Shelves

I'm a little ashamed of the amount of books that I purchased during April. It's too many to post pictures of all them. If you want you can check out my video where I talk about the books I got in March and April, but most of the books in the haul were purchased in April.

Books I Read

Saga Volume 2 (4.5 stars) | Saga Volume 3 (5 stars)

Saga Volume 4 (5 stars) | Saga Volume 5 (5 stars)

The Sea of Monsters (4.5 stars) | Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock ( 4 stars)

Food Wars Volume 1 (4 stars) | The Deal (4.5 stars)

Merman in My Tub (2.5 stars) | Addicted to You (3.5 stars)

2016 Reading Challenge

As of right now I have read 23 books towards my 50 book Goodreadsn reading challenge. According to Goodreads I'm ahead of the pace I should be reading to reach my goal and that's thanks to the graphic novels I went through at the beginning of the month. I know I have for sure finished another book for the Finishing the Series challenge. I decided to update all my challenges at the end of the month so I will be doing that sometime during the week.

Coming In May

The first thing I want to mention is a readathon that a book blogger/booktuber that I follow has created/ is hosting in May. Ashley @ Bookish Realm is has created the Mental Health Awareness Readathon which will be taking place May 16-22nd. I'm going to be participating in this readathon and I thought some of you might be interested. If you are interested in this and want to see the challenges check out her announcement video for all the information. Ashley also made a twitter account for this readathon so make sure to check that out as well.

The other thing I wanted to mention is that I'm working on getting stuff together to try to go to Book Con on May 14. It is really last minute but since I'm from Chicago and some other plans fell through I decided to try to go and see family that weekend. If anyone that happens to come across this post before and you are going let me know and maybe we can try to meet up.

How was April for you guys? Anything fun or exciting happen?

March Wrap Up

I have been on a really bad schedule. I'm so used to writing my post the same day I post them that now since I work more than two days a week I can't really do that anymore. I keep talking about getting on a schedule but honestly I haven't really made the effort to do so. I've also been getting a little bored with the same type of post each week which is another reason why I haven't really been making that extra effort to write blog posts. Starting this week I'm going to get back into working on blog posts while I'm at work so I'll have my posts up when they're supposed to go up. Also, I'm trying to come up with some new ideas for blog so I don't keep posting the same type of material. Anyway, since I got all of that stuff out of the way, I'm going to go into everything book related for March.

New To My Shelves

Throne of Glass | The Assassin's Blade | Half-Blood

Books I Read

Wonderland (3.5 stars)

The 5th Wave (4 stars) | The Infinite Sea (4 stars)

Chew Volume 1 (5 stars) | Rat Queens Volume 1 (5 stars)

Currently Reading

I'm reading Harry Potter with my little brother so it might take me a while to get through it.

2016 Reading Challenge

By the end of March I read 13 books towards my goal of 50 books for the year. According to goodreads by the end of March I was ahead one book for the challenge. I'm sure the books that I have read will also be able to counted somehow on the Pop Sugar Reading Challenge and the Around the World in 52 Books Challenge but I haven't gone through them see which challenges I have completed yet. I also read 2 books that will count towards the Finishing the Series Challenge. I will be updating those challenges very soon so check out my link following my challenges for this year at the top of my blog.

What books did you read during March? What were your favorites from those?
